  • 200 gram Gram flour
  • 150 gram Curd
  • lemon juice one spoon
  • 1 spoon oil
  • salt as per taste
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 7-8 Green chillies
  • 10-12 Curry leaves – 10-12
  • 1 spoon mustard
  • 1 spoon sugar
  • 1 cup Green coriander
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder

Dhokla Making Recipe Instruction

  • First of all, the batter will have to be made and the ingredients will have to be collected to make it. Which has the ingredients given above but before that, to steam the batter, you have to pour 2-3 cups of water at the bottom of the steamer pan and heat it well on medium flame.
  • Now take a bowl and filter the gram flour in it. After that add curd, salt, turmeric powder, 1 spoon oil, and squeeze the juice of lemon and mix well. Now add water little by little as per requirement mix well and make a nice smooth batter. Make sure that the batter is neither too thin nor too thick. After that keep the batter aside for 30 minutes to set.
  • Let the batter set for 30 minutes while you do some further preparation. First of all, apply oil in a bowl so that the dhokla does not stick.
  • Now as per the first point, put two bowls of water in a pan and place a stand inside it. then heat the water. Take it and heat it on high to medium flame until the water boils.
  • After that, you should stir the gram flour batter one more time with a spoon. After that add baking soda to the batter. After that add one teaspoon water and then keep stirring the batter for 1 minute. After that you will see that the batter will be full. After that immediately put it in a vessel greased with oil and keep it on the stand in the pan.
  • After that you will have to cover the pan with a lid and that too for 15-20 minutes. Now open the lid within the given time and then check by inserting a knife. If the knife comes out clean then the Dhokla has been cooked well. If the knife comes out clean then the Dhokla has been cooked well. If the batter is still sticking to the knife, it means you will have to cook for 1 to 3 more minutes. When cooked, check once more. After that take out the vessel. Now keep it cool.
  • Once it cools down, cut the dhokla with a knife. Now you have to apply tadka to the dhoklas after which the dhoklas will shine. To temper the dhokla, put one spoon oil in a pan and heat it. Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, green chillies (cut lengthwise), curry leaves and fry till the mustard seeds crackle.
  • After that add sugar and 1 cup of water and keep mixing till the sugar dissolves. After that pour the tempering over the dhokla and also add green coriander.
